Sackie, William

I was born on December 14, 1983 in Yekepa, Nimba County, Republic of Liberia unto the union of Rev. Joseph & Mrs. Elizabeth Sackie. My father was a pastor for the Assemblies of God church. My father died when I was in my early age. He always gave me good Godly advice up to his death. However, I did not heed his advice, and at the age of 16 I began to live a very bad and immoral life style. However, my parents Godly advice was always in my conscience.

In October 2003 I was invited to the Victory UPC by a friend but made excuses and did not go. After several invitations, I was convicted in my heart to attend the church in November 2003. Pastor Deborah Weyhee preached on “Immorality In The Church”. Upon hearing this message I was lead by the Spirit of God to go to the altar. Hands were laid on me and prayers were offered and I felt the power of God for my first time. However, I did not receive the Holy Ghost. But, I decided from that point on to separate myself from the world.

On May 16, 2004 I was baptized in Jesus Name by Brother Joseph F. Kamara, and received the baptism of the Holy Ghost in October. God began to use me as an evangelist. God used me mightily in the local church and community. I knew I needed to be taught the Word of God so I began to pray for funds to attend Bible College to better equip myself for the ministry. While waiting, one of our churches that had been destroyed by the war needed someone to oversee it. I told the presbyter I could take care of the church, with God’s help. I was assigned there as the pastor and God is blessing His work.

To God be the glory, I am now attending the Maranatha Bible College (UPC). Thanks to all of you in America that have made my dream come true. I promise you that with your help, I will do even more to spread this Apostolic Truth.
